Classes are non-refundable, however they are transferable if notice is given at least 48 hours prior to class. (A merchandise credit may be requested in place of transfer, which will remain valid for three months.)

Class fees include instruction, materials if noted and use of our tools. Supplies may be purchased prior to class and students will receive 10% off, as well as on any purchases the day of class. Class samples are displayed at shop, as well as pictured below. Remember to bring your reading glasses. If you use then, you will need them!

Advanced Beading ** Wednesday, April 28 - 6:00

Learn to create a multi-strand twisted necklace that won't untwist and how to use cones for a professional finish. Prerequisite: Intro to Beading or familiarity with professional crimping and Get Wired or familiarity with wire wrapped loops. Advanced Fused Glass ** Thursday, Mar. 18 - 6:00

Designed as a follow-up to the basic "Intro to Glass Fusing" class. Learn tips and techniques of glass powders, frit and confetti. We will also use inclusions like Fiberpaper, Dichro Slide and Copper. Students will create 2 pendants to be picked up the next day. All supplies included. $75 [Lori]

Advanced Knotting ** Monday, March 15 - 6:00

Learn the tricks to adding the smallest of precious gems and pearls finishing with bullion wire for a seamless closure. This class is for intermediate knotting students. Supplies Needed: Approx. Take your silver fusing to the next level by creating clasps for your chains or beaded jewelry. Students create two types of toggles and a multi-strand hook and eye clasp. Expand your silver fusing skills and create rings! In this class, we will also cover necessary techniques like texturing, stamping, twisting, knotting and proper ring sizing. Create a pair of elegant sterlinig silver earrings in a diamond shape using the Japanese 12-in-2 weave. You've asked for it and here it is! Make your own pendants, earrings..you name it out of copper. Using the same principles of silver clay, Art Clay now makes a Copper Clay, which can be sculpted, textured, molded, embellished and fired in under 30 minutes with a shrinkage of 10%. Using metal working techniques you will learn how to transform metal sheet into a hip, personalized copper cuff bracelet. Learn how to use a jeweler's saw and saw blades, how to file metal, form a bracelet using a mandrel. You will also learn polishing techniques and how to oxidize with liver of sulphur. Use your creativity and metal stamping skills to say what you want on your wrist with words and/or embellish with decorative stamps and hammers.

Master the many styles of earrings, learning how to make a single drop to dramatic dangles. This class will lead you through construction of three earring styles. Supplies needed: A collection of beads in different shapes and sizes, one pair of connectors or chandelier components with 2-3 loops.

Exclusively Ear Wires *

Work with 20 gauge half hard wire and small beads to learn multiple variations on ear wires so you never have to buy another pair! Starting with basic hooks and hoops, we will make a few of each pair to master the basics then move on to make as many variations as possible. Learn to create an ethereal, vintage look charm or pendant using the technique of image transfer. In this class students will transfer images onto sea glass to make personalized charms and/or pendants. Image Transfer Solution is a medium that allows you to transfer images onto non-porous surfaces such as sea glass, metal, wood and unglazed tile. You will complete three practice pieces on bottle caps and three sea glass pieces that you can use for charms or pendants. There will also be a discussion on finishing techniques and a demonstration on how to drill holes in sea glass. This class offers an introduction into the world of silversmithing. Students will learn how to forge metal links. This class teaches you the techniques for making custom silver rings with or without stones. Using a few simple tools, we start with moldable silver clay and sculpt into the desired shape.
